Dr. Shari Aultman

Dr. Shari Aultman focuses on utilizing holistic health care for the entire family. She recognizes we, as humans, are intricately woven together as physical, spiritual, and emotional beings. Dr. Aultman practices a variety of chiropractic techniques including manual adjustments with a drop-piece table, Activator Technique, Applied Kinesiology, Sacro Occipital Technique, and Active Release Therapy. Supportive nutritional counseling, functional medicine, herbal, and lifestyle recommendations are also integral to her patient care. She utilizes cutting-edge Frequency Specific Microcurrent (FSM) therapy as well as Pulsed Electromagnetic Field (PEMF) Therapy. Dr. Aultman enjoys furthering her skills and competencies by frequently training in chiropractic pediatrics, spinning babies, nutrition, and sports medicine, to name a few.

Dr. Aultman earned her Doctor of Chiropractic degree in 1988 from Northwestern College of Chiropractic (now Northwestern Health Sciences University) after completing pre-medicine courses at University of Minnesota, Duluth. After college graduation she practiced chiropractic care in Eden Prairie and Minneapolis, MN until she moved back to her hometown of Grand Rapids, MN. She then opened her chiropractic practice in Grand Rapids in 1992, and in 1997 she expanded as owner and founder of Healing Hands Chiropractic Center.

As a mother of eight children, she loves and enjoys her children and many grandchildren while keeping an active lifestyle. Among her favorite activities are swimming, downhill and cross-country skiing. She finds the most joy and fulfillment in both her personal and professional life by keeping her personal relationship with Jesus Christ as her foundation.

Dr. Karen Bates

Dr. Karen Bates graduated Magna Cum Laude with her Doctor of Chiropractic degree from Northwestern Health Sciences University in 2005. Dr. Bates also graduated Magna Cum Laude with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Biology from Augustana College in 2002. Dr. Bates addresses health concerns using natural and conservative approaches. Specializing in Applied Kinesiology, she uses muscle testing to help diagnose specific needs for each patient. Dr. Bates main goal in treating patients is to unleash the body’s God-given power to heal itself by reducing neurologic interference. The spine, as well as the muscles are addressed. She uses manual and Activator techniques along with drop-piece table adjusting and nutritional counseling. She utilizes Frequency Specific Microcurrent (FSM) as a therapy modality. Dr. Bates continues to study and utilize FSM since completing the FSM core training in 2008. She also treats patients using Pulsed Electromagnetic Field (PEMF). She is a Certified Kinesio Taping Practitioner using kinesiotape to aid in restoring neuromuscular function utilized by many athletes today. Always wanting to learn more in her field, she regularly attends continuing education seminars focusing on nutrition, women's health and pediatrics.

When not at the office, Dr. Bates spends time with her wonderful husband and three daughters. She enjoys spending time outdoors in her gardens, camping and in the boat fishing or waterskiing. She is active in her church teaching Sunday school and singing in the choir.
